To have access to nourishing food during an emergency, would be important to many people. And it not always just an emergency, but also people that live in remote areas that do not have regular access to large shops or a choice of foods. So this list is a good starting point to help one select foods for an emergency.

Canned food is a good option, but personally I prefer freeze dried food. Brown rice is higher in nutrients than white rice, and I would certainly add legumes and canned fish, rather than meat, to my survival larder.

In reply to Lizzy Stabel.

Yep Flour would be a good one too. This isn't an exhaustive list but was meant to you thinking about would work out best for your situation. In my specific situation, if I have the other things on the list then I would be okay without having any flour. As for the protein powder it should last a long time if It is unopened. Thx for reading.

This is very interesting to read and made me think about what I would stock up for a survival situation myself.

Coffee is not something I would think of, because I don't drink that (yeah one of the few people haha), but the protein powder is interesting. Do you think I could keep that powder for a long time before it gets bad?

Peanut butter is very rich in calories as well, so I think that is a good idea as well when needing to get energy for a long time.

Canned food and canned meat seem like a very good idea as well, and they keep longer than mentioned on the cans, in my opinion.

White rice yes sure! But why not flour? I would put that on the list as well ;-)

thanks for the info!

I have also not kept food for an emergency. Because of your post, I thought to stock up and keep it. I like to drink coffee. I will definitely keep it. Also, you should keep canned foods. Thank you very much for the videos you have attached. Keep posting like this. I definitely share this.
