It was great to come across this documentary of Back to Eden gardening. I recently also watched the documentary “The Need to Grow” to make us aware of the importance to grow healthy food for the world. I started watching Back to Eden and have bookmarked it to watch it in full when I have the nearly 2 hours to complete it.

It makes sense to use your garden space to grow food, and you can save lots of money here in the long run, and also if you plan well you will always have food to eat, even if all the shops had to close down.  

I see more and more people are moving back to organic gardening as it was supposed to be, as the video also suggests, and hopefully this too will make us a healthier nation, as we shouldn’t be forced to consume pesticides.

Once again your post reminds me of my childhood home! In the remote part of Alaska where I grew up on a homestead, we had huge organic gardens. We made out own compost, had earthworms to speed that along, had chickens, rabbits etc. for manure and controlling weeds and even harvested some unique local products for mulch. We used dead leaves from the natural trees collected in the fall as well as the tops of equisetum plants harvested from our lake after the ice froze. 

It was similar in some ways to what the video shows here. I would love to try this specific method now that I live in the city and don’t have access to all the same materials. I bet I could find wood mulch here.
